JoPA's firing and my thoughts

As you may have heard by now legendary Penn State football coach Joe Paterno has been fired by the School's Board of trustees. what fallow are my thoughts on the firing of the only Penn State football coach I have ever known.

1) I Agree with the Board of Trustees decision.

2) JoPa deserved better, He admitted that he didn't do enough and that he should have done more. However, to be notified by phone that he wasn't going to coach another game at the school he had giving has life to is wrong. The trustees said that this was because they didn't want any more distraction then possible, but your school is under multiple investigations there can't be any more distractions. If your the head of the Trustees you should should have a serious pair of balls or if you didn't you should have grown a set and gone to his house and had the decency to tell him in person!!!!

3) The media needs to shut up! When I turn on MSNBC I don't want sports coverage I want political coverage and when the two are merged I know thing have gone to far in the media.

4) JoPa's legacy will be fine, yes it will be damaged because of this but in the end it is my belief that people will look at the over all body of work that Joe Paterno accumulated not only on the football field but in the field of life and judge him and a great person who made a horrible and awful decision when it mattered most.

5) As i said earlier I agree with the Trustees decision, however I also have empathy for those who are in the streets tonight at Penn State. I don't think the anger & rage come's from the decision but from how it came down. when you as a person are an institution at the institution you are at you deserve better then a phone call relieving you of your duties.
